God heard my cry during delivery

Twenty-five years ago, I moved to Punta Gorda, Belize with my first son when he was three years old. At that time, my husband had already gone there to work for almost a year. Not long after, I was pregnant with my second child. Although I was glad with the news, I was worried because I didn’t know if I could cope in an unknown country. The Punta Gorda hospital was without proper services, no child specialist doctor and no experienced nurses. The other option was to book a helicopter to transport me to the main hospital in Belize City which was far from my location. I prayed to God to direct me to the hospital that I should go to. After that, I felt calm, joyful and peaceful to take on the challenge. When the time came, I was brought to the Punta Gorda hospital. The nurses accidentally broke my uterine wall which caused a great loss of blood. I was in shock and was not able to push the baby out. Yet, the nurses kept calling me to push or else the baby would die inside. Out of desperation, my heart cried out to “Jesus” three times. Right after, the nurses exclaimed that I had a beautiful and healthy baby boy. Praise the Lord! It was my Lord Jesus Christ who had helped me push my baby out for I did not have any energy left. While nursing the baby at home the next day, I fainted due to the earlier loss of blood. Thankfully, a doctor from Belize City was in town. She gave me injections of iron for five days to increase my blood count and my health was restored! The verse Psalm 34:17 reminds me of the Lord’s goodness: “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” – Louise
