The journey of my Christian life has been a testament of God’s goodness to heal, deliver, and help me through the darkest times. In the early 90’s, I was a young man filled with plenty of ambition. I was a devout believer of another religion, and life was smooth-sailing. But one day, an intense fear of failure crept into my life.

I prayed to those gods, but received no answer nor miracles. After that, my health started to deteriorate; I could not rest nor sleep, and my academic results started deteriorating as fears, worries, and anxieties took hold of me. I was a worrier, a pessimist, was easily irritated and very superstitious towards my surroundings. 

I went through very dark points in my life, but through a loving mother who persistently encouraged me to know Jesus, and a group of loving Christian brothers during my college years, I finally came to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.

Since then, I’ve experienced His divine deliverance and help. God is truth and He set me free (John 8:32), and I’m so grateful that He never gave up on me. From time to time, old fears and anxieties would resurface, but with His help I found true peace (John 14:27) and strength to overcome.

Through the process of meditating on God’s Word, I experienced true and lasting healing without the need to take medication to overcome my anxieties. This was truly God’s healing grace for me. I also cultivated a strong reading habit to strengthen my faith, and found great help in Dr. Neil T. Anderson’s books “The Bondage Breaker” and “Finding Hope Again”.

Today, I am healed and continue to stay free in Christ. God’s Words are true and powerful, and “they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body” (Proverbs 4:22, NLT). When I was not deserving of anything, He rescued me. All honour and glory to God!
